My 98 Civic and my bosses S600 v12 twin turbo. We were honing a 3800 Series 2 and polishing the pistons in preparation of bolting water meth, a turbo, and a supercharger to it.
So nice

Sadly those are stock pistons. We had some (I believe ZZP) forged rods and pistons but the skirt was .20 overbore and this is an unmodified block so we had to scrap that idea.

Why not just bore the block and fit the pistons? A much better choice than running the stock hypers. Especially twincharged.

Current engine in the car is a worn-to-hell L67 3800 Series II. The supercharger intercooler leaked all into the lower intake and rusted two of the cylinders and a bunch of other stuff all to hell, so we’re replacing it with this higher-compression L36 3800 Series II with a Series III bottom end. On top of the motor is going a custom L67 lower intake, custom frame rails with high-flow injectors, custom ignition system that uses three coils per spark plug (if I remember correctly), and a water/meth injection system. On top of that goes a custom CNC milled adaptor plate, an intercooler, another plate, and then the supercharger from a Ford GT500 with a bypass to defeat the supercharger at RPMs or situations where it would hurt more than help. Off to the side we have an enormous-frickin-turbocharger, 3 inch exhaust, and power log headers. And another intercooler. I might be missing some things. There used to be the rear A/C system from a Chevy Suburban in the trunk that supercools the fluid circulating through the water-to-air supercharger intercooler, but I don’t know if that’s still a plan or not.

Motivation. We fully expect the rods to go in all sorts of fun directions once we start running it, but this engine is just a quick-and-dirty build to proof of concept. It’s basically being built from the ground up to explode violently on a dyno.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but when adding boost, aren’t you supposed to lower compression, not raise it?

That is correct.

Does the series 3 bottom end lower the compression, if not why are you adding compression?

Series 3 bottom end is actually stock. Buick did a bit of a switcheroo 2003/2004. More compression = more power as long as you can counteract the predetonation, which is why we have so many intercoolers and an aggressive water/meth system.
